These centres provide hands-on training in fields such as mechanical maintenance, electrical operations, instrumentation, and automation.

The program typically spans 18 months and combines theoretical learning with practical experience, often culminating in a certification, such as the City and Guilds of London Technician Awards in Engineering.

For 2025, Nestlé Nigeria, for example, is likely to continue its Technical Training Program, which has been active since 2011. 

This initiative targets self-driven, motivated, and qualified young individuals, often requiring a minimum of a Lower Credit in a National Diploma (ND) from a Nigerian Polytechnic (issued no earlier than a specified year, typically within the last 3-5 years) in technical fields like engineering or related disciplines. 

Candidates also usually need at least four to five O-Level credits (including Mathematics, English, and science-related subjects) obtained in one sitting.

Practical Training: Participants gain real-world experience in Nestlé factories, such as those in Agbara, Abaji, or Flowergate (Sagamu, Ogun State).

Career Development: While not a guarantee of employment with Nestlé, the training enhances employability, and some graduates have been offered jobs by the company post-training.

Certification: Successful trainees receive a Nestlé Certificate of Participation, and top performers may qualify for additional opportunities, such as international internships (e.g., a 3-month stint at a Nestlé factory in Switzerland, as offered in past programs).

Investment: Nestlé has invested significantly in this initiative, with over N6 billion committed in Nigeria alone by 2024, suggesting continued support into 2025.

The Ideal Candidate must have: A. Minimum of Lower Credit in National Diploma (ND) issued by a Nigerian Polytechnic not earlier than 2022 in any of the following (or related) field of study:

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical and Electronics Engineering / Electrical / Installation & Maintenance Engineering          

Applied Mechanical and   Electrical Engineering (Mechatronics)

Industrial Measurement and Control/Instruments Mechanics Work

Automation Engineering

Mechatronics and other related core engineering qualifications

B. Minimum of Four (4) O-Level Credits or its equivalent obtained in One (1) Sitting in Mathematics, English Language, Physics and one other science related course.
