Coker-Odusote emphasized that the revalidation is not targeted at any specific individual or group but is a crucial step towards sanitizing the system, ensuring the integrity of the country's identity database, and addressing outstanding debts owed to FEPs. The Director General clarified that the decision is part of ongoing efforts to conduct proper audits of claims made by some of the Front-End Partners.

While addressing the participants, Coker-Odusote stated, "Please be advised that the revalidation exercise is being implemented in phases. This is just the first and not the last. Let me use this medium to remind you all that NIN enrolment is free of charge in Nigeria. My administration has zero tolerance for corruption.
