In a significant move towards achieving President Tinubu's vision of cultivating 500,000 hectares of land to enhance food security, the Federal Ministry of Communications Innovation and Digital Economy has unveiled the shortlisted candidates for the Fourth Industrial Revolution Technology Application (4IRTA) in Agriculture grants. This initiative, aimed at integrating advanced technologies associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) into the agricultural sector, focuses on transformative applications such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
The 4IRTA grants, part of a broader effort to revolutionize Nigeria's agricultural landscape, involve financial support and partnerships to encourage innovative solutions utilizing cutting-edge technologies. Rigorous reviews, conducted by renowned 4IR technology researchers and practitioners of Nigerian descent worldwide, assessed criteria such as solution alignment with 4IRTA objectives, readiness, and the quality of video demonstrations provided by applicants.
