In a significant development, Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has officially announced that the Federal Government is gearing up to commence payments for eligible beneficiaries under the N-Power scheme. The slated date for the commencement of these payments is January 2024.

The commitment to settling arrears owed to N-Power beneficiaries, even after their disengagement from the program, reflects the government's determination to uphold its financial obligations. Edu emphasized that the administration led by Bola Tinubu is resolute in cleaning up any existing issues within the N-Power framework.

"We met discrepancies, and we intend to clean it up before we go back to paying those who are owed, and then bringing out a completely new structure. We would capture people, and then, put them on the scheme properly, we would verify them, and we would go ahead to pay them," Edu stated during a recent interview with News Central TV.

She further highlighted the directive from Tinubu to expedite the "clean up" of N-Power, urging patience from beneficiaries until January 2024.
