In a bid to attract skilled caregivers, Canada has officially relaunched its Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot programmes, opening doors for Nigerians and other foreigners to relocate with their families and secure permanent residency. The application process for qualified candidates begins on January 1, 2024, at 9 am Eastern Standard Time (EST).

These caregiver programmes, spanning five years, offer eligible candidates and their families the unique opportunity to immigrate to Canada with the ultimate goal of becoming permanent citizens. The application process offers two main pathways:

Gaining Experience: Geared towards individuals with less than 12 months of caregiver work experience or no prior full-time caregiver work experience in Canada, this option is available for those seeking to gain the necessary experience.
