This news comes as a surprise to many subscribers, who had taken to social media to express their gratitude to MTN for what they believed was a deliberate act of debt forgiveness.

However, an official from MTN has confirmed that the disappearance of debts in subscribers' accounts was a glitch, and that subscribers will still be responsible for paying their outstanding balances. This means that once MTN rectifies the error, subscribers will see the debts reappear on their accounts and will have to make the necessary payments.
