In a promising development, Dr. Olayemi Cardoso, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has revealed that the monetary policy measures implemented by the apex bank are set to significantly address the issue of inflation in the coming two quarters. Speaking at the 58th Bankers Dinner of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria in Lagos on Friday, Cardoso expressed confidence that the measures undertaken by the CBN are already showing positive results, with a notable decline in month-on-month inflation growth.

"While absolute inflation is still on the rise, the decreasing rate of growth signifies progress. The CBN is optimistic about effectively managing inflation with the ongoing tightening measures for the next two quarters," stated Cardoso. He further highlighted that month-on-month inflation has commenced its descent, recording a growth rate of 0.67 percent in October, down from 0.97 percent in the previous period.
