Breaking News: Minister Betta Edu Provides Update on N-Power Stipend Payment Delays


In a recent update on Friday, November 24, 2023, the N-Power scheme, designed to address youth unemployment and entrepreneurship in Nigeria, assured exited graduate beneficiaries awaiting stipends that the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, is actively working to resolve payment delays.

The N-Power program, initiated in 2016 by former President Muhammadu Buhari's administration, has been a critical social investment scheme with beneficiaries spanning education, agriculture, health, and tax industries. The scheme, executed by the All Progressives Congress (APC), initially engaged over 200,000 young Nigerians in Batch A, followed by approximately 300,000 beneficiaries in Batch B, both of which were disengaged in 2020. Addressing the concerns of unpaid stipends, N-Power urged patience from the affected beneficiaries. Via its official handle, the scheme revealed that Minister Betta Edu and Akindele Egbuwalo, the N-Power National Programme Manager, are actively working towards the resolution of the payment issue. In a tweet, N-Power stated, "Hello. Please note that the honourable minister and the program manager are currently working towards the resolution of payment. We plea for your kind patience. Thank you and best regards."
