N-Power Payment Backlog News Update Today - 21 October 2023

Good news for N-Power beneficiaries! After a long wait, the federal government has announced that they will begin paying the nine-month backlog owed to N-Power beneficiaries starting in November 2023. This exciting development was revealed by Akindele Egbuwalo, the National Programme Manager of N-Power.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, October 16, by Jamaluddeen Kabir, the National Communication Manager of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), it was disclosed that funds have been successfully recovered from existing payment service providers. Crucially, these payments will be made in installments to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

Moreover, N-Power, the program that has been a lifeline for countless Nigerian youth, is getting a new lease on life. It will now be known as the "Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme (RHJCP)." Akindele Egbuwalo explained that in line with the new agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the N-Power program is expanding to target a whopping 5 million beneficiaries over five years. Every year, 1 million youths will be given opportunities under the graduate and non-graduate streams.

Previously, there was some uncertainty and discussion about a national protest due to a lack of information. However, the N-Power beneficiaries have now been assured. During the meeting, a beneficiary from Yobe State stated, "Sir, as you have clearly explained the current situation of payment to us with utmost transparency, myself and other clusters of beneficiaries represented here are assuring you that we have clearly understood your position and taken your assurances. There is no need for any protest."
