N-Power News On Payment Backlog For 30 October 2023

In a recent announcement from the federal government, N-Power beneficiaries are set to receive their long-awaited stipends as the payment of a 9-month backlog is scheduled to commence in November. The news was disclosed by Akindele Egbuwalo, the national programme manager of N-Power, during a meeting with beneficiaries in Abuja.

The payment, which has been eagerly anticipated, comes after funds were successfully recovered from existing payment service providers. However, beneficiaries should be aware that the disbursements will be carried out in installments, as detailed in a statement released on October 30 by Jamaluddeen Kabir, the national communication manager of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA).

In an effort to signify a new direction for the N-Power program, Egbuwalo also revealed that the program would be rebranded as the "Renewed Hope Job Creation Programme (RHJCP)." This transformation aligns with the agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and will be supervised by the Honourable Minister, Dr. Betta Edu. CONTINUE READING.....

Under the RHJCP, the program aims to expand its reach and impact significantly. It is set to target 5 million beneficiaries over the next 5 years, absorbing 1 million youths annually through both graduate and non-graduate streams.

Additionally, this development appears to have defused tensions among N-Power beneficiaries, who had initially planned a national protest due to a lack of information regarding their payments. However, after Egbuwalo's transparent explanation of the current situation and assurances of a better implementation of the program, the beneficiaries have opted to remain patient and forgo the planned protest.
