In a significant development within Nigeria's N-Power program, Akindele Egbuwalo, the National Programme Manager of N-Power, has unveiled plans to clear the outstanding payments owed to Batch C beneficiaries, encompassing a substantial eight-month period. This announcement comes in the aftermath of the suspension of the N-Power initiative by the Federal Government due to the discovery of phantom beneficiaries and concerns regarding the mismanagement of funds by some of its consulting partners.

In a statement, Akindele Egbuwalo disclosed that the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation has successfully recovered the requisite funds to address the backlog owed to beneficiaries. During a recent meeting with representatives of N-Power beneficiaries, he assured them, "The encouraging news is that the funds have been recuperated, and your pending payments will be disbursed shortly."

Dr. Betta Edu, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has been working tirelessly to rectify irregularities within the N-Power program and other social investment schemes. These irregularities had caused public confidence in the government's capacity to provide social safety nets to waver. Nevertheless, Akindele Egbuwalo reiterated that Dr. Betta Edu is taking all necessary steps to resolve these issues and fulfill President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Mandate for the Nigerian populace.

Akindele Egbuwalo stressed that many of the issues that had hindered the program's smooth implementation are now being addressed. When he assumed his role, it became apparent that numerous beneficiaries were not receiving their monthly allowances, with funds being held by consultants whose contracts had long expired. Egbuwalo's statement brings hope as he confirmed, "The good news is that the funds have been recovered, which will enable the prompt payment of the beneficiaries."

He called upon young Nigerians to be patient, as the restructuring of the N-Power program is ultimately in their best interest.
