The Nutrition Capacity Building Officer will be responsible for overseeing all nutrition activities for IRC-supported OTPs (Outpatient Therapeutic Programs) in Monguno LGA. This includes planning, implementing, and monitoring community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) activities, as well as providing training and support to staff and community health volunteers (CHVs). The Nutrition Capacity Building Officer will also work with LGA authorities to coordinate the delivery of nutrition services and ensure that the IRC's programs are aligned with local needs.
Qualifications and Experience
To be eligible for this position, applicants must have a bachelor's degree in nutrition, public health, or a related field, as well as at least three years of experience in nutrition programming in a humanitarian setting. Applicants must also have strong project management skills and experience in working with community health volunteers.
Responsibilities
The Nutrition Capacity Building Officer will be responsible for the following:
- Planning, implementing, and monitoring CMAM activities in Monguno LGA
- Providing training and support to staff and CHVs on nutrition programming
- Coordinating with LGA authorities to ensure that the IRC's nutrition programs are aligned with local needs
- Tracking the performance of nutrition programs and advising on implementation processes
- Developing and implementing capacity building activities for nutrition staff and CHVs
