What Is National Social Register NSR? - The National Social Register is an aggregation of state registers built by each of the 36 states and FCT. States build the register using a Community-

Based Targeting approach undertaken by targeting teams & enumerators engaged by states & overseen by their ministries of planning with technical facilitations from the National Social Safety-Nets Coordinating Office (NASSCO).

The National Social Safety-Nets Coordinating Office NASSCO is an office under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation FMHAPA responsible for building the National Social Register of Poor & Vulnerable Households. According to NASSCO, there are over 60 million Nigerians on the National Social Register (NSR) and they are real people identified by community members in their communities & LGAs of domicile. The register is first, a state asset built by states through their ministries of planning.

The current National social register was built by the last Administration, a situation that led to the ongoing verification of the register by the new Administration to ensure that persons captured in the register are real people.Read Full Details From Source
