During a press release on Sunday, shared by her Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Rasheed Zubair, Edu highlighted that the administration is aware of the current delays that beneficiaries are experiencing with regards to their stipend payments, and measures are being taken to address these issues promptly.

She mentioned, “The process is being re-evaluated to ensure that delays in stipend disbursements are eliminated, and we are aiming to expand the program to help more people, rejuvenating it with a renewed sense of hope and efficacy.”

Moreover, the minister shared her ambitious long-term vision of eradicating poverty across the country by establishing humanitarian hubs in all 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

These hubs would act as a center where locally produced goods could be sold at affordable prices to the Nigerian populace, thus promoting self-sufficiency and economic growth.

In addition to this, Edu emphasized the ministry’s commitment to fostering transparency and effectiveness in the distribution of palliatives – relief materials provided to citizens. To ensure this, digital tracking systems will be implemented to monitor the delivery of these aids accurately.

This system intends to capture crucial data such as the time and location of delivery, as well as the details of the recipients. Furthermore, the ministry plans to deploy teams to various local government areas to collect feedback and monitor the distribution process closely, with the help of independent observers, to ascertain that the relief materials are reaching those genuinely in need.CONTINUE READING FULL DETAILS FROM SOURCE

Under Edu’s stewardship, the ministry is set to tackle poverty by creating jobs, initiating cash transfers to impoverished citizens, and fostering partnerships with various departments like the Nutrition Department.

Furthermore, efforts will be channeled towards encouraging the growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing necessary stimulus packages to boost their businesses.

Edu reassured the citizens of her dedication to mitigating the humanitarian crisis in Nigeria through swift and coordinated responses. She urged Nigerians to have faith in the process, highlighting the significant economic interventions that President Bola Tinubu has lined up to address both short and long-term needs of the populace.

“Mr. President has massive economic plans in place for Nigeria, aiming to meet both immediate and future needs of the citizens. We request the public to place their trust in these processes as we work tirelessly to achieve these goals,” she added.

Through these initiatives, the minister assures that the empowerment schemes within the National Investment Programme will be fine-tuned to cover more people effectively, showcasing a renewed commitment to uplift the Nigerian populace from poverty and hardship.CONTINUE READING FULL DETAILS FROM SOURCE
