As an Assistant Technical Officer, WASH, you will play a vital role in supporting FHI 360's WASH programs in Borno, Nigeria. You will work under the supervision of the Field Coordinator to implement water supply, sanitation, environmental health, and hygiene promotion activities in IDP camps and host communities. Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Conducting water quality testing for all water points rehabilitated under the program
- Working with community volunteers and latrine users to develop cleaning and maintenance schedules for latrines
- Disseminating hygiene promotion messaging
- Coordinating with WASH partners at the field level
To be successful in this role, you should have a B.Sc./B.Eng. in Civil Engineering, Water Resource Management, or a related degree/qualification with at least 1-3 years' relevant experience. You should also have an excellent understanding of WASH activities in humanitarian relief settings and familiarity with the Nigerian public health sector systems and NGOs and CBOs.
