Program Officer - British Red Cross at IFRC
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is seeking a Program Officer to join its team in Nigeria. The Program Officer will be responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring the Disaster Management program in Nigeria. They will also work closely with the National Society to strengthen preparedness and response capacity, and support ongoing collaboration with all relevant partners in the region.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will have a BA/BSc/HND in a relevant field, and at least 3 years of experience in disaster management, project management, or a related field. They will also have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
The Program Officer will be responsible for the following:
- Planning, implementing, and monitoring the Disaster Management program in Nigeria
- Working closely with the National Society to strengthen preparedness and response capacity
- Supporting ongoing collaboration with all relevant partners in the region
- Developing and implementing Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) interventions
- Coordinating follow-up on implementation plans with colleagues in London and Nigeria
- Strengthening capacity and competencies in the programme branches on Water Sanitation and Hygiene
- Ensuring effective working relationships with the relevant departments/ branches of NRCS as well as WASH/ Health technical advisors at BRC
