Position Overview: Air Operations Officer (Air-Ops) II
Reporting to the Air Operations Manager, the Air Operations Officer 2 will be responsible for coordinating ground operations to ensure the smooth transportation of passengers, luggage, cargo, and diplomatic mail. Your role will involve various tasks to ensure safe and efficient flight planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- - Manage flight bookings for fixed-wing and UNHAS (United Nations Humanitarian Air Service) operations.
- - Coordinate with various units and departments to ensure accurate passenger information, luggage, and routing details.
- - Distribute flight manifests and operational information while adhering to timelines.
- - Monitor weather conditions and provide necessary updates to the flight crew.
- - Perform flight following to address operational issues and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
- - Collaborate with airport officials, security personnel, and humanitarian officers.
- - Maintain proper documentation for UNHAS bookings and comply with finance requirements.
- - Assist in field assessments, aircraft maintenance, and quality checks.
- - Handle Dangerous Goods documentation and ensure compliance with regulations.
- - Coordinate the movement of passengers, cargo, and diplomatic mail through customs and immigration.
Qualifications and Experience:
- - University Degree in Aviation Management or related field.
- - Minimum of 3 years of flight operations experience in aviation, airlines, or airport operations.
- - Previous experience with a humanitarian agency is a plus.
- - Additional training in logistics or aviation is advantageous.
- - Proficiency in computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and flight planning systems.
- - Strong knowledge of the aviation industry and technical terminology.
- - Excellent written and spoken English.
- - Valid driving license.
