Vacancy at UNICEF WASH Officer

UNICEF is looking for a qualified and experienced WASH Officer to join their team in Sokoto, Nigeria. The WASH Officer will be responsible for providing technical, operational, and administrative support throughout the programming process for sanitation and hygiene in  Sokoto states.

The ideal candidate will have a university degree in public health, social sciences, behavior change communication, sanitary engineering, or another related field. They will also have a minimum of two years of professional work experience in WASH-related programmes for developing countries.

The responsibilities of the WASH Officer will include:

• Providing technical support to UNICEF partners in planning, design, implementation, monitoring and reporting for the assigned result area.
• Supporting demand creation for improved sanitation and hygiene services in households and institutions through Community Approaches for Total Sanitation (CATS/CLTS), Water Safety Planning (WSP) and hygiene behaviour change promotion.
• Providing capacity development, technical advice, and support to WASH Facilitators and consultants.
• Preparing updates and reports for assigned result areas.
• Researching and reporting on trends in the assigned result area, for use in programme development, management, monitoring, and evaluation.
