Position Overview

ECHO is looking for a dedicated Project Manager for Disaster Risk Reduction to join their team in North West Nigeria. The selected candidate will be stationed in Rabah and Goronyo, Sokoto, with occasional travel to Kaduna. The contract duration for this position is five months, commencing as soon as possible.

Role and Responsibilities

The chosen Project Manager will report to the Area Coordinator Northwest and will be responsible for overseeing the "Improved Early Warning Systems and Social Safety Nets for rapid disaster response in North West Nigeria" project. Key duties include managing all aspects of the disaster risk reduction project, supervising the Senior Program Officer, handling project finances and budgets, and collaborating with local stakeholders and humanitarian partners to ensure project success.

Profile of the Ideal Candidate

To be eligible for this role, candidates must possess an Advanced University Degree in Development Studies, Project Management, Disaster Management, or a related field, along with professional training in disaster risk management and/or social protection. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in disaster risk management, with at least three years of work experience in a humanitarian aid organization. Additionally, a strong track record of financial planning and budget management is required.
