For deceiving Nigerians with a fake result, JAMB withdrew a candidate's UTME results.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has withdrawn the result of a candidate, Mmesoma Ejikeme a student from Anambara state, for allegedly manipulating her scores. Ejikeme had claimed to have scored 362 in the 2023 UTME, but JAMB revealed that her actual score was 249.
JAMB also advised the public to be wary of fake results, as some candidates have been using software to manipulate their scores. In the case of Ejikeme, she had sent a message to JAMB's platform to request her result, and then manually inflated her scores and pasted them on the 2022 UTME result sheet.
JAMB said that it would be investigating all candidates who are claiming to have higher scores than they actually obtained. Those who are found to have falsified their results will be prosecuted.
This case is a reminder that it is important to verify the authenticity of any UTME result before making any decisions based on it. JAMB has made it clear that it will not tolerate any attempts to defraud the public, and those who are caught will be dealt with severely.
Tips for Verifying UTME Results
- Always check with JAMB directly to verify the authenticity of any UTME result.
- Be wary of any results that seem too good to be true.
- If you are unsure about a result, do not hesitate to contact JAMB for clarification.
By following these tips, you can help to protect yourself from being scammed by those who are trying to falsify their UTME results.
