SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM COMMISSIONER   OF POLICE, KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND, CP MOHAMMED USAINI GUMEL, FIPMA, psc REGARDING THE UPCOMING MAY 29, 2023 GOVERNOR-ELECT INAUGURATION CEREMONY TITLED:

“THE PEOPLE OF KANO STATE HAVE NO REASON TO PANIC AS ALL RESIDENTS ARE ASSURED OF ADEQUATE PROVISION OF THE DESIRED SECURITY”

By this announcement, the general public is to note that Kano State Police Command has engaged all the available police assets and are putting in place round-the-clock crime prevention patrols and have mobilized the required support from relevant security agencies who are currently working together at this moment  and are already embarking on “Operation Show of Force” with the combined Force. 

2. Therefore, I am warning all those who are prospecting to cause trouble, as well as those with subversive agenda, to stair clear and away from the planned events of the Inauguration activities. These are my admonition for the lovers and friends of Kano state and the nation in general. 

3. Furthermore, I am notifying the general public that all the needed security arrangements have been put in place for the peaceful May 29th swearing in Ceremony of the Governor-elect which is scheduled to hold on Monday, at Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata Kano. 

4. More so, I hereby reiterate, in strong terms, that the eyes of the combined Law Enforcement Officials are in all the identified breeding spots and locations where these enemies of peace are hiding and are determined to catch up with them.

5. At this moment I am leading the “joint Operation Show of Force” with the Military alongside the personnel of other sister security agencies and are engaging on round-the-clock visibility patrols, raids of criminal hideouts and black spots with robust intelligence gathering to detect elements with tendencies that are likely to cause breach of the peace or breakdown of the law and order.

6. The good people of Kano State are by this announcement enjoined to heed the following advice: 

(i) Motorists and other road users moving towards Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata, Kano are to note that between 1600hrs of Sunday 28th until 29th May 2023, they should obey security checks already established to direct motorists on alternative routes. They should also avoid dangerous driving, over-speeding and observe traffic rules and regulations.

(ii) Guests at the inauguration venue are advised to behave orderly, avoid climbing scoreboards and floodlights, and also avoid carrying any item that may trigger suspicion or apprehension.

7. Let me also warn that anyone caught violating the order will face the full wrath of the law. Therefore those with criminal intent are advised to rescind their agenda and repent or leave the State completely.
