SON Recruitment 2023: Application Requirements and How to Apply

Under Decree No. 56, the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) was established in 1971 as a government agency to standardize and regulate the quality of Nigerian-produced and imported goods.

The Standard Organisation of Nigeria typically opens its recruitment portal to applicants who are interested, qualified, and qualified to work for the organization. There are two types of offers offered by SON: job for graduates and non-graduates.

Similar to NAFDAC, SON is responsible for standardizing and regulating the quality of industrial products, while NAFDAC is responsible for food and drug control.

Nigerians who want to advance their careers with the organization are employed by the standard organization of Nigeria in order for it to carry out its duties and responsibilities.

Requirements For SON Recruitment

Below are the basic requirements for SON recruitment:

• Applicants must be Nigerian citizens

• Must have National Identification Number (NIN)

• Applicants must have a NYSC discharge certificate or Letter of Exemption.

• Must have University Bachelor’s Degree or HND

• Must not be over 35 years old

• Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) with Credit passes in not less than three (3} subjects, including English and maths

• Candidates must be computer literate

Functions of SON

1. The agency conduct test and ensure that industrial products meet specific requirements that are considered safe for public consumption and usage.
2. They ensure that industrial products are fully registered, and marked as ‘safe’ to use in Nigeria.
3. The agency distributes standard samples across Nigeria.
4. They have the mandate to establish standard laboratories all over the country for the purpose of carrying out most of their functions.
5. They establish quality assurance and certify certain products safe to be used.
