Nigerian Immigration Service Released List for Uncollected Passports
The names of 8,611 Nigerians who have yet to pick up their international passports from the service's offices in various parts of the country have been published by the service.
On Thursday, February 16, 2023, the Immigration Service posted an announcement with a link to its website, where the names are displayed, on its official Twitter page.
It asked Nigerians whose names were on the list to go to the passport office and get their passports.
The owners' surname, first name, and other names, as well as their passport number and production date, are included in the information that has been uploaded to the Service's website.
Punch reports that Anthony Akuneme, the NIS's Public Relations Officer, stated that the NIS was unable to reach the passport holders because some of them had entered incorrect contact information at the time of registration.
Akuneme made the revelation that Isa Idris, the Comptroller-General of NIS, had sent a team of senior officers across the country to locate the passport holders who had left them behind.
