Honourable Abdulrazaq Namdaz, the chairman, House of Representatives committee on the Army has said that he could have been in the same plane with late Chief of Army Staff,

General Attahiru Ibrahim. The member of the green chamber who was interviewed on Sunday Politics, a political and current affairs program of Channels TV said that it was his special adhoc committee task that made him not to fly with the late Chief of Army Staff and his team to Kaduna.

He said that he was also invited to witness the passing out parade in Kaduna which the Chief of Army Staff and his team flew to attend.

Honourable Abdulrazaq who was emotional about the death of Attahiru Ibrahim who he said he has known for a while said that God Almighty knows the best.

He prayed God to forgive them and grant their souls rest. He recalled that when General Attahiru assumed office as the 21st COAS, he was always in Maiduguri.

According to him there was a time the late Chief of Army Staff gave troops 48 hours to recover a town taken over by Boko Haram insurgents and that the soldiers did that exactly.

When asked of what will be become of the successes recorded by late Attahiru Ibrahim, Honourable Abdulrazaq Namdaz said that there are many Attahiru's in the Nigerian Army who can continue from where he stopped.

Many Nigerians are still shocked at the sudden death of Lieutenant General Attahiru Ibrahim. President Muhammadu Buhari described him and 10 other military officers who died in that plane crash as heroes of peace and security of Nigeria.

They were buried yesterday at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja. May there souls rest in peace.
