As the approved date, 9th of February deadline for all SIMs registration is fast approaching, the African Leading Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN) has sent a notice to its esteemed subscribers to quick take a proactive step in other not to lose access to their phone numbers.
The Federal Government mandated all the GSM Network operators and customers to register their lines before the deadline in other to check the spate of insecurity in the country, it was noticed that many terrorists, bandits, arm-robbers and kidnappers plan and communicate their attacks via unregistered phone lines.
However, MTN recently published a note on its official website revealing what subscribers should expect after successfully submitting their National Identity Numbers (NINs) for linkage. The telecommunication network reported that those customers who have sent their NINs for linkage should know that the process is not yet complete, not until NIMC sends a validation or confirmation message to them, which they (MTN) will consecutively resend to their individual lines, and that shows that the whole exercise is successful.
Nevertheless, any subscriber who did not receive this confirmation message after one week of NIN submission should visit any nearest NIMC center and rectify the issue, meaning that the linkage has been verified and validated.
