Amaechi says University of Transport Daura will likely be completed in 2021

Rotimi Amaechi has disclosed that the Federal University of Transportation Daura is likely to be completed in September 2021

The minister of transportation made the disclosure when he visited the construction site in Daura Amaechi said the contractors has assured him that they would give the project utmost attention

The minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has disclosed that the Federal University Of Transportation Daura is likely to be completed in September 2021.

Amaechi made the disclosure on Saturday, August 29, when he visited the site in Daura to confirm the commencement of work on the project, NAN reported.

He said the contractors, China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) had just gotten approval from the state government and would commence the project at the end of September 2020.

”This is not a railway contract. This is a gift from them (CCECC). I have said my assumption is that they should finish by next year September,” he said.

The minister pointed out that the contractors may not be as dedicated as they will be when it comes to a proper contract since the project was a gift. He however said the contractors had assured him that they would give the project the same attention they accord to the railway construction.

Meanwhile, following the reported discrimination over their degree certificates in the workplace, a coalition of holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) is threatening to embark on an industrial action if the issue is not addressed

by the government. The group has asked the government to implement a white paper detailing the removal of dichotomy on their career progression in public service in four weeks or face a strike.

In spite of this Nigerian students have been mounting pressure on the government to reopen the citadels of learning, adding that they want to resume.
